Nowadays, telecommunication devices has become a must for every human being on the face of the earth. People use telecomunication devices to keep connected with each other without limit even if they are apart from each other. This follows the concept of globalisation which means connection without limits. Using today’s technologies , people today usedmobile phone and walkie-talkie as a medium to communicate each other.
The mobile phone means a telephone with access to a cellular radio system so it can be used over a wide area, without a physical connection to a network. Mobile phones also support a wide variety of other services such as text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access, short-range wireless communications (infrared, bluetooth), business applications, gaming, and photography. Mobile phones that offer these and more general computing capabilities are referred to as smartphones. The first hand-held cell phone was introduced by John F. Mitchell and Dr Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset weighing around 2kg. In 1983, the DynaTAC 8000x was the first to be commercially available. From 1983 to 2014, worldwide mobile phone subscriptions grew from zero to over 7 billion, penetrating 100% of the global population and reaching the bottom of the economic pyramid. In 2014, the top cell phone manufacturers were Samsung, Nokia, Apple, and LG.
On the other side, the walkie-talkie is a hand-held, portable, two way radio transceiver. These new two-way radios boast of ranges extending two miles or more. Any walkie talkies with ranges of 5 miles (8 km) must be licensed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) before use. Most people such as mall-security use these portable communicators to keep in touch with each other at a large space or crowded public event. More adventurous users may purchase one with additional features such as a global positioning system, compass, weather channel tuner and hands-free voice commands. The first radio receiver or transmitter to be widely nicknamed “Walkie-Talkie” was the backpacked Motorola SCR-300, created by an engineering team in 1940 at the Galvin Manufacturing Company. Walkie-talkie was developed during the Second World War has been variously credited to Donald L. Hings, radio engineering teams at Motorola.
